Service Overview

Kitchen Renovations —
The Brief, In Plain English.

What It Is

A kitchen renovation is everything between the old kitchen coming out and the new one being signed off — strip-out, any structural opening-up for open-plan, electrical and gas reroutes, plastering, kitchen install (your supplier or ours), worktop template and fit, splashback tiling, flooring and final certification.

Who It's For

Homeowners replacing a tired kitchen; renovators rolling a kitchen into a wider scheme; anyone wanting to open up the kitchen and dining or living space into one room; landlords needing a durable rental-spec refit between tenancies.

When You Need It

Once you've settled on the layout and either chosen a kitchen supplier or asked us to source one. Plan 6–10 weeks ahead for kitchen lead times on the better trade suppliers.

Why It Matters

Kitchens fail at the coordination — the fitter waiting on the plasterer, the plasterer waiting on the electrician, nobody chasing the worktop template. One team owning the whole programme means the kitchen fitter walks into a square, plumb, fully-serviced room on the day they're booked.

What Happens If You Wait

The Cost Of
Doing Nothing.

A half-managed kitchen refit drags on for weeks past the date you were promised and costs more than the quote you signed.

Risks Of Ignoring It

  • Kitchens fitted before electrics signed off — appliances on the wrong circuits, units pulled off to refix.
  • Worktop templated on out-of-square plaster — gaps at the wall, scribed fillers everywhere.
  • Splashback tiled before plumbing is finished — tiles cut to chase pipework after the fact.
  • Plaster skim onto damp walls behind the old kitchen — pattern staining within months.
  • Gas appliances installed without Gas Safe sign-off — insurance void, illegal to use.

Common Mistakes Customers Make

  • ×Letting the kitchen supplier project-manage the build.
  • ×Buying the kitchen before measuring the room properly.
  • ×Picking the cheapest worktop and regretting it daily.
  • ×Booking the fitter before the plasterer.

Our Process

First Call To
Final Sign-Off.

01

Survey & Layout

Measure up, agree the new layout, structural openings, services routing and finish spec. Photograph everything before strip-out.

02

Fixed Written Quote

Itemised written quote — strip-out, structural work, first fix, plaster, kitchen install, second fix, worktop, tile, decoration.

03

Strip & First Fix

Kitchen out, any walls down with steel where needed, electrical and plumbing first fix to new layout, plasterboard.

04

Plaster & Install

Walls and ceiling plastered to paint-ready finish, kitchen carcasses and units installed, worktop templated and fitted.

05

Second Fix & Sign-Off

Appliances connected, splashback tiled, flooring laid, decoration finished, Part P and Gas Safe certificates bundled into handover.

Why It's Worth It

What You
Actually Get.

Square, Plumb, Serviced Room

The kitchen fitter walks into a properly prepared room — straight walls, level floor, services in the right place. The kitchen sits how it's meant to.

One Programme, One Number

Plumber, electrician, plasterer, joiner, tiler and fitter all run on one programme by one accountable team. No three-trade booking dance.

Structural Opening-Up

Walls down with engineered steel where you want kitchen-diner open-plan — calcs handled, building control booked, structure properly designed in.

Certificates In The Handover

Part P electrical certificates, Gas Safe sign-off, building control where structural work is involved — all bundled and handed over.

Variations In Writing

Anything you change mid-job gets quoted in writing before we proceed. No verbal extras that turn into invoice arguments at the end.

Full Service Area Map

Full Kitchen Refits

Strip-out, services reset, plaster, install and finish — the whole job as one project. Standard 4–6 week programme depending on scope and any structural work.

Open-Plan Kitchen-Diners

Removing internal walls with engineered steel beam, services rerouted around the new opening, full kitchen-diner layout designed around the new sightlines. Building control coordinated.

Galley & Compact Kitchens

Tight footprints, narrow side returns, terraced-house outriggers — kitchens designed to fit the room rather than the room reshaped to fit a kitchen layout from a catalogue.

Rental & Landlord Turnarounds

Hardwearing, easy-clean kitchen specs designed for tenant turnover — durable doors, solid worktops, accessible plumbing. Fast programme between tenancies.

Worktop, Tile & Floor

Worktop template and fit by the supplier or in-house in laminate or solid surfaces, splashback tile, vinyl or LVT floor — coordinated so each element follows the one before it without idle gaps in the programme.

Cost, timeline, guarantees, lifespan, emergency availability — the questions everyone asks, answered before you call.

Ask Yours

How much does a new kitchen cost in South Wales?

+

Cost depends on cabinet spec, worktop choice, appliance package and any structural work. We give itemised fixed written quotes after a site visit so you can see and adjust the scope.

How long does a kitchen take to refit?

+

A straightforward replacement kitchen is typically 2–3 weeks. A full strip, structural openings, replumb and kitchen-diner refit usually runs 4–6 weeks.

Do you supply the kitchen or do I?

+

Either works. We can spec and supply through trade suppliers we trust, or fit a kitchen you've bought yourself — just want to see the spec before pricing labour.

Can you knock a wall down for an open-plan kitchen-diner?

+

Yes — engineered steel beam designed by a structural engineer, building control inspections at every stage, certificate in the handover pack.

Will I be without a kitchen for the whole job?

+

Yes — once the strip starts the room is out of action. We can sometimes leave the sink working until late in the programme but plan for takeaway meals.

Do you handle the gas hob and Gas Safe sign-off?

+

Yes — Gas Safe registered work is signed off and certificated as part of the handover pack.

Do you take a large deposit?

+

No. We work on stage payments against completed milestones, not large up-front deposits. You're paying for work done.

Can you do the flooring at the same time?

+

Yes — vinyl, LVT, tile or engineered wood, laid as part of the same programme so the kitchen sits properly on the finished floor.
